IKH sunblind systems - an innovative concept involving the installation of a Venetian blind unit between two panes of insulation glass - fulfils all aesthetic and creative demands on modern glazing. The aluminium slats inserted into the space between the glass panes are 16mm wide and have a heat-resistant, highly reflective paint finish.

The IKH sunblind system's concept can be used with all types of double glazing, including those with LOW-E soft coatings, as a special stabilisation system prevents the louver from touching or impairing the glass. It is now possible to incorporate either horizontal or diagonal louver systems within double glazing units without any hesitation at all.

A special electric-powered drive system guarantees a problem-free and virtually silent louver operation. IKH sunblind systems are a permanent installation and therefore not prone to failure. No problems will arise on the upper edge of the insulation glass compound. Electric drive technology ensures synchronised component movement. Individual, group and central drive is also possible within a single system.

IKH sunblind systems - a dynamic sun-protection system - reduces the difference between the external and internal temperature by 10° by reflection of heat rays. Contrary to conventional sun-protective glass, this system can be adapted to compensate for fluctuations in weather and climate due to varying times of the day and the different seasons.

IKH sunblind systems are not detrimentally affected by stresses or rigours of wind or weather and cannot become dirty or marked. The mechanism is weather-resistant (can withstand snow, frost and ice, as well as extreme temperature fluctuations. Fine adjustment of the louvers enables an exact control of daylight penetration.

The electric drive options make IKH sunblind systems an ideal application for automated control and operation. All materials used have high longevity properties, are UV-resistant and permit architects to use innovative decorative design and creative geometry approaches.
